Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice UK, Dragon’s Den, Take Me Out, First Dates, and Love Island are a few of the nominees at the prestigious 7th annual National Reality TV Awards which took place two days ago - 18th of September 2017 at the Porchester Hall in London.
The National Reality Television Awards is the only awards ceremony worldwide to re-define the sub genres that make up the whole industry of Reality TV with all categories nominated and voted for by millions of television fans.
Over 4.6 million submissions were received for this year’s nominations. Each year all nominations for the NRTA are submitted via the official NRTA website by the public between the 7th of January till the 1st of August and the public decide winners of each category by voting on the official NRTA website for their favourite shows, celebrities or participants.
This year (2017) the National Reality Television Awards has partnered with broadcast partner, Sky Showcase who will be broadcasting the event.

The Best Television Presenter category saw a plethora of talent go head to head including; Paddy McGuinness for Take Me Out , Nick Knowles for DIY SOS, Bradley Walsh for the The Chase , Stephen Mulhern for Catchphrase , Susanna Reid for Good Morning Britain, Lorraine Kelly for Lorraine and Naga Munchetty for BBC Breakfast are among the list of presenters competing for this category. Whilst the Best TV Judge category sees; Simon Cowell for Britain’s Got Talent, David Walliams (Britain’s Got Talent), Danni Minogue (Let it Shine) go head to head with WIll i am (The Voice UK & Voice Kids) , Peter Jones (Dragon’s Den) and Sir Tom Jones (The Voice UK).
Previous NRTA Best TV Judge winner Peter Jones (Dragon’s Den) commented “I have always supported the NRTA’s from the first ever awards show at the O2 over 7 years ago and it is amazing to see how far this has come as an awards ceremony celebrating not just the faces we see on our screens but the Producers, Directors and production companies who play an excellent part in delivering contents to millions of TV viewers each year”.
Susanna Reid won big at the awards and used the opportunity to poke fun at Piers Morgan as she collected three prizes. The 46-year-old presenter made a number of digs at her Good Morning Britain co-presenter as she collected the Best Talk Show, Best Presenter and Celebrity Personality Of The Year gongs at the event, for her hosting role on Good Morning Britain.
Susanna Reid was Presented her Awards by Cheryl Baker and her famous band from the 80s - Bucks Fizz, Also sponsors of the glitzy event - Dechavel Watches.
Stephen Bear won Best Male Television Personality and his on/off girlfriend Charlotte Crosby, who was not in attendance, took home the Reality Television Personality Award he managed to pile up three awards for their MTV show Just Tattoo Of Us.
Bear *certainly* was not in poor spirits – managing to cause some almighty drama during his visit to the NRTA’s. Despite being absent from the awards, missing beau Charlotte has taken to Snapchat to share the reason she couldn’t attend the awards – also revealing her thoughts on Bear’s onstage antics which included reacting in the most disruptive way possible to winning - by throwing over his teams lovely table and shouting as Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson handed over the gong, he finished his hellraising acceptance speech by flinging the mic across the floor, lets hope the venue had insurance. Charlotte Crosby won Reality Personality of the Year, beating the likes of fellow Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattinson and Love Islands Oliva Attwood to take the gong.
Speaking on Snapchat, Charlotte shares: ‘I am not there tonight which I am gutted about, all my friends have sent me a video of him accepting my award which is the funniest thing, especially when he flings the mic across the floor’. Charlotte shares, ‘He has just won best male personality so well done to me and Stephen. We are King and Queen of the personalities of 2017’. Can’t argue with that, Charlotte.
Love islands Boys Theo Alex and Harley picked up the award for Best Reality TV Show.
Katie Price won Best Docu Soap for her programme Katie Price ; My Crazy Life.
Ampika Pickston won Best Celebrity Personality of the Year 2017.
JB Gill and Chloe Gill were presented Best Performance on a Reality TV show by James Parker, Amy Secret and Ella Carron-Brown of Secret Veneers.
The Only Way Is Essex was voted Best Reality Non - Competitive Show.
Jamie Oliver won Best Television Chef 2017
Peter Jones was voted Best Reality TV judge 2017.
First Dates was voted Most Inspiring TV Show 2017.
CEO of Secret Veneers @amy_secret_ was joined on the red carpet by the likes of Playboy Model Chloe Khan, Love Islands Katie Salmon and Georgia Harrison, Big Brothers Bianca Gascoigne and Amelia Lily. Made in Chelsea stars MiMi Bouchard, Daisy Robins and Sam Thompson, Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter, Heather Mills and Frank Bruno.
